The Mormon Pacific Historical Society has four stated purposes:

  1. To encourage research and publication on topics relative to the history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Pacific Basin area.

  2. To maintain bibliographic and reference information relative to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Pacific Basin area.

  3. To gather in conferences and workshops to teach and to learn from each other about Latter-day Saint history in the Pacific.

  4. To teach those skills helpful in the gathering and recording of historical information.

2008 MPHS conference

The MPHS annual conference was held March 21-22, 2008, with keynote guest speaker Rangi Parker from New Zealand on Friday night. The Saturday session included a report on the 2007 Uho 'o Tonga reunion in Tonga, the Maori Agricultural College (Ken Baldridge), a New Zealand labor missionary panel discussion, Dr. Jerold Ottley's missionary choir experience, a CCNZ faculty panel discussion, and more.
